What Kundalini is — and what it is not
Inner life energy, intimately linked with the chakra map and the path of self-knowledge.
Life energy at the base of the spine
Kundalini is a person’s own life energy, resting at the base of the spine. It is not an outside power visiting the body, but a living potential that belongs to you.
Movement through the central channel
Under favorable conditions, this energy may begin to move through the central channel (Sushumna) and relate to the chakra centers. That relationship is why the Kundalini section links back to the seven chakras and to Energy system study on this site.
Self-knowledge, not conquest
Kundalini work is framed here as part of self-knowledge: learning how sensation, emotion, attention, and a deeper sense of “I am” fit together. The energy is already within. It is not something that needs to be “raised” by willpower.
A calm next step
When this foundation feels clear, the historical pages show how traditions spoke about Kundalini — including preparation, guidance, and the text Sat-cakra-nirūpana.
